You can create a custom dictionary for spell checking text in Stems and Answer Options of items in a project. Any words added to the dictionary are not displayed as incorrect.

Edit the project’s dictionary

Select the Manage → Setting → Dictionary menu.

To add words to the dictionary, enter each word on a new line and click Save.

Why is the "Learn" feature not working?

This applies only to remote deployment clients:

If the "Learn" feature of your spell checker is not adding words to your dictionary list, you may need to set permissions on your application server. This is also the case when you are unable to manually save words to the custom dictionary and an error is displayed as below.

Make sure that JSpell is installed correctly as detailed in the Setting Up JSpell Evolution Spell Checker Dictionary topic and also that the IIS user (typically "Network Service") has been granted Write access to the Lexicons directory in the JSpell program directory (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\JSpell Spell Checker).

If you happen to have two JSpell folders in the C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86) directory, do this for both to ensure the modification was made to the correct folder.
