  1. Select the Create Exam Form → DT Templates menu.

    Icon

If the Lock Node check box is selected on the template being applied, the user is not allowed to make editable the node on which the template was applied.

  4. Provide an Ident, Title, etc. in the same way as on the Delivery Configuration Tool page. The Global ConfigurationItem MetadataExam Metadata, and Qti Metadata settings are also similar.

A custom Resource Container can be uploaded to the Exam Form Template here as well. For more information on how to do this, please see Upload Custom Resource Container to an Exam.

Why is my resource container not showing in my Asset list?

    Icon

Unlike when you are working with a project exam template or the Delivery Configuration Tool in a content project, the resource containers that are used in DT Templates must be uploaded into the Asset Bank in the DT Itembank.

  5. Click the Placeholder Section node.

    Fields in the right pane:

    • Section - Placeholder_(ident) area:
    • Title: Placeholder Section title. This can be any alphanumeric value.
    • Keep Together: When this is set to True, the various settings on the Placeholder Section are applied to any section where this template is applied. If this is set to False, the various settings on the Placeholder Section are not applied to any section where this template is applied, even though they remain saved in the template.

Since this is a Placeholder Section, it doesn’t have an Add Item button to add items. You can specify settings and even add Display Type items from the DT Item Bank as Help Rubrics.

You can create additional Placeholder Sections to have individual sets of settings to be applied to ExamDeveloper Sections.

You can even create Section nodes under the Placeholder Section node and add items as mentioned earlier for the DT Section template. Sections thus created under Placeholder Section are inherited into the ExamDeveloper sections to which they are applied, including any settings, items, and help rubrics that have been added.

  6. Create a Section node under the ExamForm node.

You can add items, and specify custom settings as mentioned earlier for the DT Section template.

Sections created in this way, including any settings, items, and help rubrics that have been added, are added as regular sections into the ExamDeveloper exam forms to which the parent DT Exam Form Template is applied.

  7. Click Save at the bottom of the page. A pop-up appears, prompting you to enter the name for the ExamForm template to be saved. You can select the Include nested sections check box to include Sections within Sections (if any).

    Icon

An error message in red text is displayed if you try to save a template with the same name as an already existing template and the template is not saved when the If ExamForm template exists with the same name, it will be overwritten is not selected. To still save the template with that name, you must select this box.

  8. The following pop-up appears. Click OK to save the template and continue to remain on the same page. Click Cancel to save the template and return to the List DT Templates page.

  9. Click the DT Templates link to return to the List DT Templates page.

  10. The saved template is now visible on the List DT Templates page when you select ExamForm from the Choose Template Type drop-down list, and click Search.

  11. It is possible to delete any DT Exam Form template by selecting it via corresponding check box, and clicking the Delete button on the top right.

    Icon

A DT template can be cloned (an exact copy created) by clicking the corresponding Copy icon. The copy is given the same name as the original with a "Copy of" suffix. This functionality is useful if you wish to modify certain parts of a DT template, but do not wish to disturb the original.

    Icon

The DT Templates for exam forms created in this way are visible on the Create/Edit Exam Form page in the exam form Template drop-down list.

Also, once an Exam Form DT Template is selected, the Section templates contained in it are populated in the Placeholder drop-down on the Contents tab for Sectioned as well as Unsectioned items. If multiple Sections are contained in the Exam Form DT Template being applied, then you can choose different templates from this drop-down list to apply to Unsectioned, and various Sectioned items, independent of each other.
