 Canvas editor: Zoom in and out feature

Image Annotation editor in Point and Click items and when adding comments on assets

Description:

The ability to zoom in and out on images was added to the Image annotation editor.

By default the Image Annotation editor displays the image at 100% zoom. Large images may not be completely visible in the editor, so scroll bars appear on the right and bottom sides of the editor. The image annotation editor allows you to zoom in and zoom out on images allowing you to focus on specific details within the image, or to view the entire large image within the editor.

  1. In the Image Annotation editor window, click the  Zoom In button to enlarge the image within the editor. Use the scroll bars on the right and bottom edges of the editor if the entire image cannot be viewed in the editor. 

  2. In the Image Annotation editor window, click the  Zoom Out button to make the image smaller within the editor.

    When you click the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons, the percentage goes up or down by 10%.

    You may manually change the zoom to a specific percentage by typing in the Canvas Zoom field and hitting the Enter key on the keyboard.

    You may zoom in on an image to as much as 500%, and you may zoom out on an image to as little as 10%.



  3. When you zoom in or out on images that include shapes and text, the shapes and text fields retain their proportion to the image size.
  4. When you edit a text field on an image that is zoomed out, the text field enlarges so you may edit the text. The image remains zoomed out. When you click away from the text field, the text field returns to the smaller zoomed out size.

 Add display, essay, compound items to exam with experimental selected by default

Description:

By default, when you add Display, Constructed Response/Oral, and Compound items to an exam, these item types are set to Experimental by default and will not be scored. Previously these items types were marked as scored by default.

The experimental setting in the user interface is set as follows when you insert these items into an exam:

  • Display item type: Experimental is selected, and the check box is disabled. Display type items are never scored so you cannot change this setting.
  • Constructed Response/Oral item type: Experimental is selected, but the check box remains enabled so users can have the item scored by deselecting experimental.
  • Compound item type: Experimental is selected, but the check box remains enabled so users can have the item scored by deselecting experimental.
  • When an exam import contains these item types, if the experimental value is configured the default rules are not applied to these item types. These items are imported as experimental items. If the experimental value is null or not set by the user, then the default settings for the item type are applied and they are set as experimental.

These changes do not affect existing exams. If you have exams with Display, Constructed Response/Oral, or Compound items, the experimental values for those items remain unchanged.

When importing exams with Display, Constructed Response/Oral, and Compound items, if these item types are specified in the Experimental column then import them as identified in the import file. If these item types are not specified in the Experimental column, then they are imported as Experimental items by default and therefore will not be scored. You may change the setting for the Constructed Response/Oral and Compound item types after they are imported. Display items are always marked as experimental and are therefore not scored.

 Added the ability to sort Metadata key column for QTI export

Description:

Users can now sort the Metadata Key column when setting the Content Balancer for Sections - Selection Ordering feature. In the Build QTI page for Adaptive selection ordering, users now have the ability to sort by the Metadata Key in the Content Balancer section.

Before sorting by Metadata Key, the metadata entries are listed in the order in which they were added in the system.

Click the Key column heading and the Metadata Keys are listed in ascending order. Click the heading again and the items are listed in descending order.

When you save the configuration and then export the QTI for the exam, the metadata keys are exported in the order in which you saved them.

 

 Users now included in the JSON report export

Description:

The JSON report now includes a Users.json file when the JSON report is generated. The Users.json file identifies the list of users for the exported questions included in the report.

The Project.json file identifies the managerID. Open the Users.json file and find the ID number listed in the ManagerID field from the Project.json file.

The Question.json file lists the User ID in the writtenBy, impersonatedBy, modifiedBy, and userTrackingInformation fields. Open the Users.json file and find the ID number listed in the Question.json file.

The Question.json file also identifies the User ID of the person that created a comment. Open the Users.json file and find the ID number listed in the createdBy field of the desired comment in the Question.json file.

 Lookup values file in JSON export

Description:

The JSON report now includes a Lookup.json file when the JSON report is generated. The Lookup.json file lists the IDs classificationLevel, metadataConfigurations type and displayOn, and the question window position. This file can be cross referenced against the Project.json and Question.json files.

The Project.json file lists the classificationLevel under reviewConfigurations. Open the Lookup.json file and locate the classificationLevel number. This is the classificationLevel assigned to the question.

The Project.json file also lists the ID for the type of metadata assigned to the item, and it identifies the ID for what the metadata can be assigned to. Open the Lookup.json file to determine what type of metadata is assigned to the item and where the metadata can be applied.

The Question.json file lists the windowPosition ID for pop-up Exhibits. Open the Lookup.json file and locate the associated windowPosition ID to determine where the pop-up exhibit will open on the screen.

 userTrackingInformation cleaned up in JSON report

The userTrackingInformation was cleaned up so the values match what users see in the ExamDeveloper User Interface.
