Locking Response for the Questions of Cases, when added to an Exam Form, prevents a candidate from viewing or answering of such Questions more than once. An example of this may be that the answer to one of the Questions is contained in either the Question stem or options for that Question. This stops the candidate from being able to go back to a previous Question after it has already been answered.

  3. Click on the checkbox next to the header of Lock Response column to Lock Response for the complete set of Questions for the selected Case.

The Lock Response checkbox setting for Questions in Cases is carried over to Exam Forms. The setting is only available as read-only for such Questions on an Exam Form.

When the Export Cases as Sections (For QTI Packages) checkbox is checked on Cases tab of the Project's configuration, Cases appear as Sections on the Questions tab of the Create/Edit Exam Form page. The Lock Response checkbox for such Case Section is absent for the entire Section and also for individual Questions. The settings for individual Questions are displayed as read-only checkboxes, as shown below.

When the Export Cases as Sections (For QTI Packages) checkbox is unchecked on Cases tab of the Project's configuration, the Questions in Cases appear in Unsectioned Sections along with other independent Questions if any, on the Questions tab of the Create/Edit Exam Form page. The Lock Response checkbox for such Case Section is absent for individual Questions. The settings for individual Case Questions are displayed as read-only checkboxes, as shown below.
