You can add Comments to assets/asset stacks from various assets-related pages such as Examine Asset, Compliance Review, Processing, or Quality Review pages.

This applies to the image types .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .tif, and .png.

Copy Asset comments on modification: If this option is selected in the asset configuration, then it copies all the asset comments from the original asset to the created copy when an asset is modified. All the comments are shown as editable.

Add comments to assets

Add a simple comment

  1. To add a simple comment to an asset, view the asset on the Examine Asset or Review Asset page and click Add Comment. A pop-up window opens.

  2. Enter your comment in the Enter Text area, and click Save Comment.

    The Enter Text field is mandatory.



  3. The comment is added and becomes visible under the Add Comment button.
     

Add overlay comment to an image

This type of a comment helps specify edits to be made to an image by marking overlays on the image. 

  1. To add an overlay comment to an asset, view the asset on the Examine Asset or Review Asset page and click Add Comment. A pop-up window opens.
  2. Specify your comment in the Enter Text area.
  3. Click the A button next to the Delete button.
  4. Click anywhere on the Image Annotation editor canvas and a text box is added to the canvas.

    Icon
    • The text box is 180 px wide.
    • The font is Arial 12 pt.
    • A max of 199 characters may be typed in a text box.
    • The height automatically adjusts based on the number of characters you type. You cannot change the width or height of the text box.
    • You can use the following keyboard shortcuts in a text box:
      • Select All (Ctrl+A)
      • Cut (Ctrl+X)
      • Copy (Ctrl+C)
      • Paste (Ctrl+V)


  5. Click Submit for Image Edit.

    Submit For Image Edit button is enabled only if the project has users with the Asset Processing role, apart from Project Manager and Manage Assets role users. This creates a task on the ExamDeveloper dashboard for users that review assets.

    Image Overlay is displayed only for the file types .jpg, .png, .jpeg, .bmp, .tif, and .gif.

  6. The comment is added and becomes visible under the Add Comment button.
     

Add overlay shape to image

In addition to text, shapes can be added to the image in the Image Annotation editor.

  1. To add an overlay comment to an asset, view the asset on the Examine Asset or Review Asset page and click Add Comment. A pop-up window opens.
  2. Specify your comment in the Enter Text area.
  3. Click the Shape menu and select the desired shape you want to draw from the list.
  4. Click and drag the mouse to draw the desired shape.

    Draw a polygon shape

    To draw a polygon, click on the canvas where you want to start drawing the shape.

    Move the mouse pointer to another spot on the canvas and click. A single line is drawn.

    Move the mouse pointer to another spot on the canvas and click. A second line is drawn that is connected to the first line.

    Continue to move the mouse and click until all the desired lines are drawn.

    Double-click to complete the polygon. When you double-click, ExamDeveloper draws a line from the point on the canvas where you double-clicked to the starting point of the polygon.

Edit shapes

Once shapes have been drawn in the Image Annotation editor canvas, you can move them, resize them, maintain the aspect ratio of a shape when resizing, and delete shapes.

  1. Click on a shape. The edit points for the shape are now visible as white boxes.
  2. To move a shape: Balance the mouse pointer anywhere on the shape. The mouse changes to a four headed arrow . Click and drag the shape to another location on the canvas. Shapes can overlap in the Image Annotation Editor.
  3. To resize a shape: Balance the mouse pointer over an edit point (the mouse changes to a double headed arrow when balanced over a boundary point) and click and drag.
  4. To maintain the aspect ratio for rectangle, ellipse, or cross when resizing the shape: Balance the mouse pointer over an edit point (the mouse changes to a double headed arrow when balanced over a boundary point), hold the Shift key on the keyboard, and click and drag.
  5. To change the shape of a polygon: Balance the mouse pointer over an edit point (the mouse changes to a double headed arrow when balanced over a boundary point) and click and drag.

  6. To delete a shape: Click on a shape. Click the Delete  icon or hit the Delete key on the keyboard.

Add comments to asset stacks

Add a simple comment

  1. To add a simple comment to an asset stack, view the asset stack on the Examine Asset or Review Asset page. select the Asset Stack (default selection) or select an individual image is in the Select Asset Stack or File drop-down list, and click Add Comment. A pop-up window opens.

    Adding a simple comment to the Asset Stack item results in an asset stack level comment, which is not associated with any specific file of the asset stack, but to the entire asset stack. Adding a simple comment to individual images from the asset stack is applicable to those individual images.


  2. Specify your comment in the Enter Text area, and click Save Comment. The comment pop-up appears as shown in the screenshot below if you select Asset Stack in the Select Asset Stack or File drop-down list. The comment pop-up appears similar to that for a single asset if you select any of the individual image files in the asset stack.

  3. The comment is added and becomes visible under the Add Comment button.
     

Add an overlay comment and shape

  1. You can add overlay comments to individual assets inside an asset stack. To add an overlay comment, view the asset stack on the Examine Asset or Review Asset page.
  2. Select the Asset to which you want to add the overlay comment from the Select Asset Stack or File drop-down list, and click Add Comment. A pop-up window opens.

  3. Specify your comment in the Enter Text area.
  4. Add image annotations by providing overlay text and marking areas on the image as required using the shapes and text options. See Add overlay comment to an image and Add overlay shape to an image above for details.
  5. Click Submit for Image Edit.

  7. You can edit the comment by clicking the  Edit icon and also delete the comment by clicking the  Delete icon.

What happens after Submit for Image Edit?

When you click Submit for Image Edit button the asset moves to Tasks List page → Assigned By Me tab.

Access Task List page

  1. Click the Tasks link from the Home page; the Task List page opens.
  2. From this page, you can Edit and Delete the task, also change the status to Completed by clicking the  Edit Delete, and  Change to Completed icons respectively.

    If Task status is changed to completed, the Task moves to Completed tab.



Update Task

  1. The user to whom the task is assigned can update the task.

    Only a user who has permissions for Compliance Review, Processing Review, Quality Review, and Manage Assets, can update and assign tasks.



  2. The task with the updates is listed in Assigned To Me tab.
  3. Click on the Task title hyperlink; it displays the changes you have updated on the Task View page.

    Comments can also be added to assets/asset stacks via Batch Edit.

    Only simple comments can be added via Batch Edit of assets/asset stacks.

    Only asset stack level comments can be added to asset stacks via Batch Edit.
